“Panda paradise” echoes not just in Chengdu, but right here at Anjing Station. This station is more than just a stop; it’s a themed gateway. Let’s explore Anjing Station.

Anjing Station, located in Pidu District, Chengdu, Sichuan, is a vital transportation hub. It operates on the Chengdu–Dujiangyan Intercity Railway and the Chengdu West Ring Railway. The station facilitates travel within the region.

Did you know Anjing Station wasn’t always called that? It was formerly known as Pixian Railway Station. The name changed in 2010. This reflects the evolving identity of the area.

In November 2024, Anjing Station transformed into a panda-themed spectacle. The design celebrates Chengdu as the “panda capital”. Cartoon panda avatars and bamboo ribbons adorn the station’s carriages. The station is a visual treat.

Anjing Station is becoming known for its “Panda Trains”. These trains cater to elderly tourists. One such train, the Y968 “Panda Train,” departed from Anjing Station for Anshun in Guizhou Province. The journey lasted five days and four nights. It carried over 200 elderly passengers.

These specialized trains address the needs of China’s growing elderly population. They seek comfortable and enriching travel experiences. The trains offer catering, accommodation, and entertainment services. Travel managers assist with luggage. Medical staff provide basic health check-ups.

Zhang Fuming, one of the managers, noted the elderly-friendly design. Compartments and bathrooms feature widened railings and anti-slip handrails. Emergency call buttons and hot water foot massage nozzles enhance comfort. Foldable chairs add convenience.

Imagine the excitement of those elderly travelers. They traverse Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou Provinces. Stops at scenic spots allow them to experience ethnic minority cultures. Passengers witness Buyi and Miao ethnic welcoming ceremonies.

Anjing Station is more than a transit point. It’s a symbol of Chengdu’s culture. It also represents China’s commitment to elderly-friendly tourism. As we conclude our visit, remember the pandas and the journeys that begin here. Anjing Station connects people and cultures.
