Intrigued by the echoes of history? Let’s explore Jabal Abu Massak. It is near the Holy Kaaba. Though its story is intertwined with another sacred mountain, Jabal Abu Qubais. Many believe Jabal Abu Qubais was the first mountain created by Allah.
Jabal Abu Qubais holds a special place in Islamic history. It is thought to be the place where Adam was told to build the Kaaba. Some say he used rocks from Jabal Abu Qubais for its foundation.
Prophet Ibrahim also preached from Jabal Abu Qubais. He called people to worship Allah alone. This mountain is also linked to the sacred Black Stone, Hajar al Aswad. During Prophet Noah’s time, a great flood occurred. The Hajar al Aswad was kept safe on Jabal Abu Qubais during this time.
Later, Allah told Prophet Ibrahim to rebuild the Kaaba. He was guided to Jabal Abu Qubais to find the hidden Black Stone. It is said that the Angel Jibreel had placed it there.
Prophet Muhammad also performed a miracle on Jabal Abu Qubais. He split the moon into two pieces. This was in response to disbelievers challenging him. One half of the moon floated above Jabal Abu Qubais.
Jabal Abu Qubais is also known as Al-Amin meaning trustworthy. It was considered a safe keeper of sacred relics. Another name for it was Magharat al-Kanz meaning Treasure Cave. Some believe Adam was buried here.
Standing at 420 meters, Jabal Abu Qubais offered views of Mecca. Though much has changed, its legacy remains. It is a reminder of faith and devotion. Today, the Saudi king’s palace stands on Jabal Abu Qubais.
Even with modern changes, Jabal Abu Massak and Jabal Abu Qubais continue to inspire. They remind us of the deep roots of Islam. They echo with the stories of prophets. They stand as symbols of faith for Muslims worldwide. They connect us to the very foundations of Islamic tradition.
