Arleta Community Bible Church isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to the vision of Missionaries Michael and Elaine McCubbins. In 1984, after years of service in Paraguay, they felt a calling to Los Angeles. They discovered a surprising fact. More Spanish-speaking people lived in the Los Angeles area than in all of Paraguay. The McCubbins began their mission in their own home. Bedrooms were transformed into Sunday school classrooms. The living room served as the auditorium. Even baptisms took place in a member’s backyard pool. The Arleta Community Bible Church quickly outgrew the McCubbins’ home. They moved to a small storefront. Later, they upgraded to a larger office building. Finally, they found their permanent home, the current church building in Arleta. The building required extensive renovations. Church members, from lawyers to nurses, contributed their time and skills. They transformed the space into the welcoming sanctuary it is today. Arleta Community Bible Church stands as a beacon of faith and community. It serves as a reminder of God’s blessings and the dedication of its members.
