It’s a place where you can appreciate the beauty of Nudgee Beach, the vast expanse of Boondall Wetlands, and the glistening waters of Moreton Bay, all places Anne Beasley held dear. This lookout isn’t just a place to enjoy a scenic vista. It’s a tribute to Anne, who chaired the Boondall Wetlands Management Committee from 1992 until her passing in 2000. Her fight against environmental harm, especially concerning the nearby Brisbane Airport, earned her respect and admiration. The lookout itself, opened on World Wetlands Day in 2002, was a community effort. Over 350 residents and environmentalists petitioned for its dedication to Anne. The concrete paths, landscaping, viewing platform, and shelter are all a result of a partnership between the State Government and the Brisbane City Council.
