From a humble home Bible study in 1974 Horizon Christian Fellowship now stands as a testament to faith’s enduring power. It all began with twelve people. Pastor Mike MacIntosh drove from Orange County each week. He led the group in Ocean Beach. The group quickly outgrew its first meeting place. They moved to the House of Hospitality in Balboa Park. Then to Linda Vista. Later Horizon Christian Fellowship bought and renovated the North Park Theatre. The church expanded its services. Outreach concerts remained popular. A school of evangelism was launched. International ministries followed. A Family Center was completed. Growth continued. The church moved again to a former junior high school in Clairemont. This church has inspired numerous other churches worldwide. It also established a comprehensive school system. Today Pastor Phillip MacIntosh leads the church. He followed in his father’s footsteps. Horizon Christian Fellowship now offers Sunday services. Wednesday Bible studies also take place. Its mission is simple: Win Disciple Send. The church provides a multitude of ministries. These include a nursery youth and teen ministries. Adult ministries and community services are also part of their work. From humble beginnings to a thriving community Horizon Christian Fellowship’s journey is one of remarkable growth and enduring faith.
