Eighty years ago a city rose from the wasteland. This is the VDNKh the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow. A symbol of Soviet ambition it showcases a breathtaking panorama of Soviet-era accomplishments.

It was the USSR’s first light and music fountain. The Worker and Kolkhoz Woman sculpture a Soviet icon originally designed for the 1937 Paris Exposition now stands tall at VDNKh.
And the fun doesn’t stop there. There’s the Moskvarium a huge oceanarium home to thousands of sea creatures. You can even watch dolphin shows. For the crafty there’s a Park of Crafts. It features workshops offering everything from furniture making to confectionery. Children adore the Fairy Tales Theater. Multimedia technology lets them interact with the story changing its very plot.
In winter VDNKh transforms into an ice-skating paradise. The rink is one of Moscow’s largest. Summer brings lively performances to the Green Theater a venue dating back to the exhibition’s opening in 1939. Legendary performers such as Leonid Utyosov and Klavdiya Shulzhenko once graced this stage.
