Cascina San Michele’s story began in 2015. Marco however had laid the groundwork five years earlier. He purchased a small inn. With it came a hectare of vineyards. Today Cascina San Michele cultivates local varieties across 6.5 hectares. These are spread across two areas. The original hectare remains. Marco added 5.5 hectares near Santa Margherita.
The location is breathtaking. Rolling hills meet vibrant vineyards. Poppies and cow parsley paint the landscape. The soil is rich in limestone. It lies on the Briccone a strip of land ideal for Barbera and Brachetto grapes. Marco’s meticulous winemaking enhances the land’s gifts. The resulting wines possess exceptional energy and depth. He avoids interfering with the vines’ natural development. He lets them express themselves. Each vintage reflects its unique year.
