After the war, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his propaganda work, but influential friends secured his release in 1945. He returned to Seville, and in the 1950s, resumed his exhibitions and contributions to national newspapers. He even illustrated a history of the Real Betis Balompié football club, narrated by Oselito.
