“A caring and empowering community” That’s how Vision Christian Family describes itself. And standing here you can almost feel it. This isn’t just a building it’s a place with a rich history.
Vision Christian Family’s story begins in 1975. It started as the Ipswich Christian Outreach Centre. It became independent in 1980. Nine years later in 1990 Vision Christian Family joined Christian Life Churches International. This was a fellowship of churches in Australia and overseas. The group eventually became part of the Acts 2 Alliance.
The church has seen many leaders. Pastors John and Jocie Meadth arrived in 2020. They took over from Pastors Geoff and Theresa Wilson. John and Jocie’s ministry focuses on transforming lives through God’s word. They have a deep love for Ipswich and its people. They want to see Christ’s kingdom grow in the community.
John and Jocie have been married for over 40 years. They have adult children and eleven grandchildren spread across Australia and even California. They’ve had an interesting journey. They graduated from Life Ministry Bible College in 1980. They pastored Liberty Family Church in Victoria. They even led a fellowship in Port Au Prince Haiti. Before coming to Vision Christian Family John served as an associate pastor at Catalyst Church in Ipswich. Jocie was involved in the cafe and women’s ministry.
Vision Christian Family’s values are deeply rooted in faith. They emphasize a close relationship with God. They believe in worshipping God. Christ’s Kingship and Kingdom are central to their lives. The church teaches that God’s word is key to life transformation. They believe in loving relationships. They strive to live as disciples of Christ. They want people to grow in their faith. And they are passionate about sharing God’s love.
The church operates on the generosity of its members. Services are free. Donations are used to cover costs. People can contribute towards different areas like missions or Christian Religious Instruction. It’s a community that truly supports each other.
So as you stand here at Vision Christian Family remember its journey. Remember its commitment to faith community and service. Remember the dedication of the pastors and members. This isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a living testament to faith hope and love.
