Later the church moved to a larger space. They acquired the Sharey Zedek synagogue. This purchase in 1962 marked a significant milestone. The new building on Chicago Boulevard held 1800 people. It showcased their growth and expansion. Unfortunately Bishop Hancock died shortly after the move.
The church has been under the guidance of several pastors. Each leader continued the legacy of faith and service. Bishop David L Collins continued Bishop Hancock’s work. Bishop Kaster Vernon Jackson followed Collins. He led the church for many years. Finally Bishop Lawson Porter took the helm.
