Barisha Club offers a wide range of services. There’s a gymnasium a table tennis coaching center affiliated with the West Bengal Table Tennis Association and a yoga center. It also provides weekly medical camps for senior citizens. They partner with Helpage India. The club even has an ambulance and hearse van.
Indoor game facilities cater to all ages. But Barisha Club is best known for its Durga Puja celebrations. The pandal is a must-see for Durga Puja enthusiasts. It’s renowned throughout Kolkata and internationally. The club has won numerous awards and accolades.
Barisha Club’s commitment extends beyond recreation. They provide free health and accidental insurance to cycle rickshaw pullers. Domestic assistants receive free medical insurance. The club donates wheelchairs to the physically challenged. Free eye treatment camps including spectacles are offered. They also distribute free clothes and sponsor education for needy students.
Blood donation camps are organized regularly. The club sponsors critical illness treatments for the economically challenged. They even conduct heart check-up camps. Barisha Club has a history of providing disaster relief. They aided victims of the Gujarat earthquake and Orissa cyclone. They organized a “Walk for Orissa” to raise funds. They also supported victims of the Aila cyclone in the Sunderban Islands.
A children’s festival called Shishu Utsaav provides aid to primary school children. A substantial donation was raised for distressed theatre workers. This was done through the Behala Natya Mela a significant event in Behala. Barisha Club is more than a club. It’s a pillar of its community.
