Through a twist of time, let’s journey back to the mid-20th century. Angel Court at Trinity College wasn’t the structure you see today. The area east of Trinity’s Bursary Range had been gardens and open plots for centuries. People periodically dug into the ground, extracting gravel. Fast forward to 1957. Construction began on Angel Court, nestled between Great Court and Trinity Street. The design by H.C. Husband brought a modern feel to this historic corner of Cambridge. The three-story building, completed in 1959, provided much-needed accommodation. Primarily, it housed first-year students, easing the college’s space constraints. Angel Court stands as a testament to Trinity’s continuous evolution. It blends the weight of history with the demands of a modern academic institution.
