Founded in 1895 by papal indult the Cambridge University Catholic Chaplaincy stands before you. It’s a welcoming community for students. Fisher House its home since 1924 is more than just a building. It’s a former inn built around 1600. Fisher House is the heart of Catholic life at Cambridge University.
Inside its walls students find solace and fellowship. They explore and deepen their faith. They are nourished through the sacraments. The chapel offers a space for quiet reflection. The Chaplaincy isn’t just for prayer. It hosts numerous events throughout the week. Tuesday evenings bring Apologia a home-cooked supper followed by talks and a bar. Friday nights offer the cheapest drinks in town. Father Paul Keane is the University Chaplain. He is assisted by Sister Ann Swailes and Father Albert Roberston. They are always available to students.
The Fisher Society the student body of Fisher House organizes spiritual and social events. Membership is free thanks to a generous grant from the Cambridge University Catholic Association. Two choirs the Schola Cantorum and the Chapel Choir enrich the atmosphere. They sing at the Sunday Masses.
