It became a central place for worship.

Masjid Raya Batam can accommodate around 15,000 worshippers. It has become a religious tourist destination. The mosque supports tourism in Batam.

The Batam Grand Mosque got a new name after revitalization. It is now called Masjid Agung Raja Hamidah Batam. The mosque stands on 33,392 square meters. It can ideally seat 10,000 people. Revitalization started on July 8, 2022.

The Raja Hamidah Grand Mosque has two parts. There is a main prayer room. There is also a meeting or activity room. The mosque is expected to boost religious activities.

But there is also Masjid Raya Baitusysyakur. It is another significant mosque in Batam. This green mosque is on Jalan Imam Bonjol No.1. It has undergone a complete transformation. A towering minaret stands among the tall buildings of Batam.
