This partnership expanded their reach, enabling them to support missions around the world. The original Merriman Road Baptist Church congregation in Garden City later embarked on a new venture. In 1957, they began a mission that eventually became Middlebelt Baptist Church. This new church, initially named “First Baptist Church,” held its first services in a simple party store on Inkster Road. It’s a reminder that faith can flourish anywhere, even in the most unexpected places. Merriman Road Baptist Church continues its mission today.
