Here at The Family of Faith Lutheran Church and Preschool in Houston, that question is answered daily. The Family of Faith isn’t just a church. It’s a vibrant hub where faith and learning intertwine. It’s a place where children embark on a journey of discovery, nurtured by a Christ-centered environment. The Family of Faith Lutheran Church and Preschool is dedicated to building self-confidence, fostering a love for learning, and cultivating healthy relationships in young hearts and minds. This unique preschool uses a special blend of curriculums. Academically, they employ the Learning Beyond Paper Curriculum to prepare the children for kindergarten. Spiritually, they utilize the One In Christ curriculum, weaving weekly lessons from God’s word into the educational tapestry. The Family of Faith Lutheran Church and Preschool has a second location. This second location, known as The Family of Faith – Miramesa, is about six miles west of the original in West Houston. This expansion was made possible through a partnership with the Texas Church Extension Fund. The Family of Faith faced significant challenges during the development and initial operation of the Miramesa location. These included Hurricane Harvey, the COVID-19 pandemic, and even a hundred-year flood. Despite these adversities, the church persevered. The Family of Faith continued its mission. They even consolidated both preschool locations into the Miramesa campus during the pandemic, strictly adhering to all state requirements. The church’s resilience extended to its worship services as well. They adapted by offering virtual services, mini-communion services in the gymnasium with social distancing, and even drive-in services in the parking lot.
