Descending upon Philadelphia in 1993, Praise Power and Deliverance Ministries emerged from the spiritual fervor of Sister Patricia Grimsley and Apostle D.G. Taylor, Sr. Initially known as Praise Power and Deliverance Fellowship Ministries, Inc., their journey began as part of a crusade team weaving through Albany, GA, Alabama, Texas, and even Newark, NJ. The very name, Praise Power and Deliverance Ministries, speaks to the core of their mission. “Praise” signifies a people called to embody God’s praise, not merely as a ritual, but as a transformation. “Power” represents the fiery awakening within believers, propelling them to a higher realm of ministry. “Deliverance” promises freedom from the shackles of recklessness and suffering, leading to a life of victory. The ministry’s roots trace back to a powerful revival in Alabama, where Velsenna, Apostle Taylor’s daughter, spontaneously spoke in tongues amidst fervent praise. This event ignited a series of “praise power services,” spreading the gospel like wildfire across the United States. Signs and wonders followed, culminating in a 100-night revival dubbed the “Holy Ghost Deliverance Shake Down.” A symbolic sign, half black for power and judgment, half red for fire and anointing, hung in the sanctuary. In 1995, a 40-day fast led Apostle Taylor to a vision of Holy Divine Order, Apostolic Ministry, and Kingdom Living.
