Stepping into a world of faith, we find ourselves at the New Creation Church in Kuala Lumpur. This isn’t the Singaporean megachurch, but a smaller, equally vibrant community. This New Creation Church is part of the Evangelical Free Church of Malaysia. It’s a testament to the power of faith and obedience. New Creation Life EFC, or NCL, started in 2009 with a small group led by Chris and Sarah Victor. They began by meeting in another church’s space in Sunway. Their early congregation consisted mainly of friends from other churches. Yet, they prayed for growth and opportunities to share their faith. A turning point came with the healing of Philip, a man suffering from severe muscle and heart ailments. Philip, his wife Grace, and their two children became NCL’s first members. Their home became a hub for the church’s Friday cell group meetings. Another member, Su Anne, joined after experiencing a miraculous healing from a stroke. Her healing brought her, her husband Goh, and several of their family members to the church. NCL’s growth continued through home visits, prayer, and a commitment to spreading God’s word. The church found a home in a shoplot in USJ21, Subang Jaya. A prominent cross greets visitors as they climb the stairs to the sanctuary. The church’s location has proven providential. An abandoned apartment project across the street restarted construction shortly after NCL moved in. The Victors saw this as a sign of God’s plans for their church in that location. Another confirmation came through the unexpected provision of funds to renovate the new premises. Over RM30,000 was needed, yet the church miraculously didn’t have to spend any of its own money. The Victors’ journey to ministry began long before NCL. A co-tenant introduced them to Christianity, leading to a profound change in their lives. Sarah, originally from the Philippines, and Chris served in various ministries at Baptist churches. A series of miraculous healings and a prophetic call solidified their commitment to full-time ministry. After leaving their Baptist church, they attended EFC Gospel Centre and sought guidance from Pastor Dr. Chan Ah Kee. They continue to meet with him weekly for prayer. Through friends, they began receiving requests for prayer and healing. This marked the beginning of NCL. They continued to study at Tung Ling Bible School, relying on God’s provision throughout their journey. Today, the New Creation Church stands as a beacon of hope and healing. It exemplifies the power of faith in action and the potential for growth when obedience meets divine guidance.
