Nestled amidst the vibrant energy of Osaka, Tsurumi Commercial High School stands as a testament to the city’s dedication to education. Did you know that this school, known locally as 大阪府立鶴見商業高等学校, has a history as rich as Osaka’s bustling markets? Tsurumi Commercial High School opened its doors in 1963. It was initially housed in temporary buildings. Imagine eager students attending classes in makeshift rooms near the ruins of the old Koshien Elementary School. By August of the same year, they moved to the current location. This marked a new chapter for Tsurumi Commercial High School. The school grounds, now sprawling over an area two and a half times larger than Koshien Stadium, provided ample space for learning and growth. Over the years, Tsurumi Commercial High School has evolved. In 1966, a girls’ commercial program was added. This broadened opportunities for young women in Osaka. Later, in 1977, the program merged with the general commercial track. A significant shift occurred in 2003 with the introduction of a comprehensive selection system within the commercial department. Students could choose between five specialized areas of study. These included Accounting Business, Distribution Business, Information Business, Environmental Business, and International Business. This innovative approach allowed students to tailor their education to their interests. Just a few years later, in 2009, the program restructured into three core streams: Accounting Business, Information Business, and Distribution Business. This streamlining helped to focus resources and enhance specialized learning. A key feature of Tsurumi Commercial High School is its motto, “Love, Sincerity, Courtesy”. This motto speaks volumes about the values instilled in students. The school aims to cultivate individuals who cherish love, uphold sincerity, and embrace courtesy. These qualities are seen as fundamental for contributing to society. Tsurumi Commercial High School continues to adapt to the changing needs of society. This ensures its graduates are well-prepared for their future careers. Tsurumi Commercial High School is more than just a school; it’s a vibrant hub of learning, growth, and community spirit.
