Beneath the imposing arches of the Mausoleum, Carol Park unfolds. This isn’t just a park. It’s a living tapestry woven with threads of royalty, innovation, and remembrance. Carol Park, named after Romania’s King Carol I, first opened its gates in 1906. It was a grand celebration, marking 40 years since the king’s coronation. Designed by French landscape architect Édouard Redont, Carol Park initially sprawled across nearly 90 acres. It even encompassed Lake Filaret, a shimmering expanse of water covering over 20,000 square meters. The park was designed not just for leisurely strolls but also as a vibrant venue for exhibitions.
