Why did Derrick and Lindsey Drake decide to plant a church in Magnolia, Texas? Here at The Collective Church, that story unfolds. The Collective Church isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to a vision. A vision born from Derrick and Lindsey Drake’s deep desire to guide generations towards faith. The Collective Church officially launched on January 26th, 2020. But its roots lie deeper, in the Drakes’ journey. Derrick, originally from Jacksonville, Florida, moved to Houston in 2007. Lindsey, a native Texan, joined him in marriage in 2009. Derrick had already been working in full-time ministry, focusing on youth. But a divine nudge redirected them. While seeking guidance, a message from an old mentor echoed their own prayers. “You two are starting a church.” It was the confirmation they needed. The Drakes’ yes led them to the Houston Church Planting Network. From 2017 to 2019, Derrick honed his skills under the mentorship of Houston’s leading pastors. This training, coupled with their passion for the next generation, shaped The Collective Church into what it is today. The Collective Church isn’t just about Sunday service. It’s about everyday faith, woven into the lives of the community, especially with Magnolia’s growing millennial and GenZ population. It’s a collective effort, a community striving to live on mission. The Collective Church, a place where generations come together, guided by the Drakes and their team, to find and follow Jesus in their everyday lives.
