Dream and reality intertwine here at Viasaterna. This Milan-based art gallery opened its doors in 2015. Irene Crocco founded Viasaterna. She drew inspiration from Dino Buzzati’s “Via Saterna”. It is an imaginary street in his work. Buzzati described it as a world of mystery.

Viasaterna began with a focus on photography. Today Viasaterna explores all art forms. It gives special attention to emerging Italian artists. Alessandro Calabrese and Teresa Giannico are among them. The gallery also features established artists. Guido Guidi and Takashi Homma have exhibited here.

Viasaterna’s name pays homage to Buzzati’s imaginary street. The gallery seeks to be a place of exchange. It welcomes people and ideas. Viasaterna is located on Via Leopardi 32. The gallery occupies 450 square meters. It spreads over two levels in a late 19th-century building. Architect Flavio Albanese oversaw its design and restoration.

The gallery’s early days were marked by a group show. It featured eleven contemporary artists. The show included paintings by Wang Qiang. It also referenced Dino Buzzati’s “Poema a Fumetti”. Irene Crocco directed Viasaterna. Fantom curated the gallery. Viasaterna aimed to showcase lesser-known artists. It focused on the “sensitive photography”.

Viasaterna has hosted many exhibitions. Marion Baruch had her first solo show here. Teresa Giannico presented “Archives of Empathy”. Viasaterna’s program highlights photography’s role in contemporary art.

Visiting Viasaterna offers a unique experience. The gallery is open Monday to Friday. Hours are from 12 pm to 7 pm. Visits on Saturdays are by appointment only. The gallery is closed on Sundays. Viasaterna is more than just an art space. It is a gateway to a world where imagination knows no bounds.
