These betta fish, renowned for their striking colors and flowing fins, thrive in the waters surrounding Bang Kachao. Further exploration might lead you to Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park. This expansive green space provides a welcome respite from the concrete jungle, with wooden bridges spanning tranquil lakes. As you cycle through the island’s interior, keep an eye out for local temples like Wat Bang Nam Pheung Nai or the vibrant Mahadevalai Ganesha Hindu temple. If your visit coincides with a weekend, the Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market is a must-see. Although not strictly “floating” in the traditional sense, the market offers a colorful array of local food and handicrafts along the canals. A bowl of gui tiaw lua or a refreshing meing kum dessert is the perfect way to refuel after a morning of cycling.
