\u8c4a\u4e2d\u5e02\u7acb\u685c\u585a\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 has a rich history. It began in 1924. At that time it was established as Toyono-gun Kumei Daini Jinjo Elementary School. In 1935, a higher elementary school was added. The school’s name changed to Kumei Daini Jinjo Higher Elementary School.

In 1936, Toyonaka became a city. The school was renamed Toyonaka City Kumei Daini Jinjo Higher Elementary School. Then in 1941, a new law was enacted. It was called the National School Order. The school’s name changed again to Toyonaka City Sakurazuka National School.

After World War II in 1947, Japan reformed its education system. The school finally became Toyonaka City Sakurazuka Elementary School. In 1952, Minami-sakurazuka Elementary School opened. Some of Sakurazuka Elementary School’s district was changed.

\u8c4a\u4e2d\u5e02\u7acb\u685c\u585a\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 was recognized for its excellence. In 1962, it received an award. The Osaka Prefectural Board of Education honored it. It was named an excellent school for school education. In 1969, it received another award. The Minister of Education recognized it. This was for excellence in school lunch management.

The school has expanded and improved over the years. A pool was completed in 1957. The lunch room was expanded the same year. In 1958, the auditorium was renovated. A pond was built in the courtyard.

\u8c4a\u4e2d\u5e02\u7acb\u685c\u585a\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1974. A ceremony was held to mark the occasion. The pool was renovated in 1988.

In 1990, air conditioning was installed. This was in the principal’s office and staff room. The gymnasium was renovated in 1991. A new observation pond was completed in 1993. The school celebrated its 70th anniversary in 1994.

Computers were introduced in 1998. In 2000, the school was designated a model school. This was by the School Evaluation Committee. An elevator was installed in 2001. \u8c4a\u4e2d\u5e02\u7acb\u685c\u585a\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2004. A new building was completed in 2005.

The school continues to evolve. It provides quality education to the children of Toyonaka City. It has a long and proud history. \u8c4a\u4e2d\u5e02\u7acb\u685c\u585a\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821 is looking forward to its 100th anniversary.
