Ermelo e Pardelhas came into existence on January 28 2013. It was created from the joining together of the old parishes of Ermelo and Pardelhas. This administrative reorganization brought these two communities together.

Before this joining the populations were tracked separately. In 2001 Ermelo had 14 residents aged 0-14. Pardelhas had 10 residents of that age. Looking at the older population in 2001 Ermelo had 62 residents over 65. Pardelhas had 82 residents over 65.

The land here spreads over 46.94 square kilometers. That is about 18 square miles. So the population density is about 8.1 inhabitants per square kilometer. That is around 21 people per square mile.
