His actual tomb lies beneath it in a special room in the basement. This octagonal chamber features a pyramidal ceiling inlaid with gold mosaics.

The Peace Park surrounds the monument. It’s a fitting tribute to Ataturk’s belief in peace. This park houses around 50000 trees shrubs and flowers. Many were gifted from countries around the world.
