The Modell-Truck-Parcours is run by the Modell-Truck-Freunde-Essen e.V., a club founded in 1993 by a group of passionate model builders. Originally situated on a former trampoline area, the Modell-Truck-Parcours started with a modest 700 square meters. Today, it sprawls over 1000 square meters. The Modell-Truck-Parcours has grown significantly since its humble beginnings. It now boasts two freight yards, two construction sites, a pond, a miniature railway, a highway section, a truck stop, and even a farm. The club’s dedication to detail is evident throughout the Modell-Truck-Parcours. The trucks, built to a 1:16 scale, are up to 1.20 meters long and fully functional. Every detail, from the airbrushed paint jobs to the blinking lights and engine sounds, is meticulously recreated. Even the hydraulics for the dump trucks and excavators are faithfully reproduced. The trucks at the Modell-Truck-Parcours are powered by eco-friendly electric motors and adhere to the same road traffic regulations as their full-sized counterparts. Visitors to the Grugapark, especially children, can drive the club’s model trucks for a small fee. The Modell-Truck-Parcours isn’t just for spectators. Visitors with their own models are welcome, as are guest drivers from other clubs. The Modell-Truck-Freunde-Essen e.V. are always happy to share their passion with others.
