October in Los Angeles. A vibrant energy filled the air around Saint Andrew Baptist Church. The church, located at 1794 West 36th Place, prepared for a month-long celebration. This wasn’t just any celebration. It was a tribute to Bishop Alex Toussaint and First Lady Anjel Toussaint, marking their 20 years of service to Saint Andrew Baptist Church and the wider community. The Deacon and Deaconess Boards organized the festivities. The chosen theme, “Our Pastor, A Servant of God, Who Said Here Am I, Send Me,” resonated with Isaiah 6:8. The celebration commenced with a luncheon at the Doubletree Hotel in Torrance. Every Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., guest preachers delivered inspiring messages. Pastor Tyron Robinson of Kingdom Builders Christian Fellowship, Bishop Kenneth Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church, and Pastor Terry Elliot of Mount Zion Baptist Church each graced the pulpit of Saint Andrew Baptist Church. The grand finale featured Pastor Roderick Walker of Tabernacle of Praise Baptist Church, concluding the month of recognition. This celebration at Saint Andrew Baptist Church was not just about recognizing two individuals. It was about acknowledging the power of faith, dedication, and service within a community. It was about the spirit of togetherness and the impact that a church can have on its members and surroundings.
