They remodeled it in the Streamline Moderne style, even covering the original Spanish Colonial Revival facade. This very spot hosted the premieres of “Jaws” and “Rocky.” After a brief closure, the Henry Fonda Theater was reborn in 1985. The Nederlander Organization reopened it as a legitimate theater, renaming it in honor of the legendary Henry Fonda. Plays like “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “Driving Miss Daisy” graced the stage once again. A restoration effort in 2002 brought back the original Music Box name, but it wouldn’t last. In 2012, Goldenvoice took over, returning the name to the Henry Fonda Theater and cementing its status as a premier music venue.
