Founded on February 27 1977 New Faith Ministry Baptist Church stands as a testament to unwavering faith. Reverend Theodore Roosevelt Williams Sr led 52 devoted members. They established this Baptist church on a strong biblical foundation. Their fervent commitment to ministry is inspiring. The church quickly grew. By January 1978 membership soared to 142. New Faith moved to its current location at 4315 West Fuqua. Ministries blossomed impacting the Houston community. Membership exploded reaching nearly 700 within two years. A unique strength was its ability to attract mature adults and youth alike. This is partly due to Pastor Williams’ passionate preaching. He delivered the Gospel with accuracy relevance and joyful exuberance. New Faith Ministry Baptist Church now serves over 3000 families. Dr Williams led with uncompromising biblical instruction. He guided the congregation under the Holy Spirit and Lordship of Christ. New ministries flourished. The campus expanded reflecting the church’s growth and commitment to Christian discipleship. In 2005 New Faith established the Community of Faith Foundation Inc. This served as a community resource. It provided educational and social service programs. February 2022 marked 45 years of ministry. New Faith continues to strive to follow God’s directives. The church has thrived spiritually and numerically. After 30 years of leadership Dr Williams announced his retirement in 2007. He prepared to pass the torch to a successor. Rev Andre J Lewis became the Youth and Young Adult Pastor in 2006. He later served as Executive Pastor and then Assistant Pastor. In 2012 Rev Lewis became the successor to Dr Williams. In 2017 Dr Williams retired. Rev Dr Andre Jermaine Lewis became Senior Pastor. This was a historic moment for New Faith. It celebrated 40 years under Dr Williams and welcomed its second Pastor. The congregation community city leaders and friends witnessed these monumental events. New Faith looks to the future. Plans for continued growth and community engagement are underway. The church remains committed to praying persevering proclaiming and praising Jesus Christ. Their hope rests in God’s faithfulness. He orchestrated their blessed beginning. He facilitated Dr Williams’ legacy. He sanctioned Dr Lewis’ calling. He prepares a hopeful future for His people. They serve as the Body of Christ at New Faith Ministry Baptist Church.
