Doesn’t the name Haussee sound like a cozy home by the water? The Haussee is indeed a charming lake. It sits in Werneuchen, Brandenburg. This is just northeast of Berlin. Welcome to the Haussee.

The Haussee is also called Löhmer Haussee. It spans about 44 hectares. The lake resides within the Regionalpark Barnimer Feldmark. This makes it a great spot for nature lovers.

Löhme lies on the north shore and Seefeld on the south. The Haussee stretches about 560 meters north to south. It extends 1.9 kilometers east to west. Its depth varies from 3 to 6 meters. The Haussee has a large shallow water area. It is 20 hectares on its west side. Rainwater alone feeds the Haussee. The water level can change. It fluctuates up to 50 cm depending on the season. Water flows from the Haussee. It moves through the Krummenseer Haussee. Then it goes into the Krummen See and finally into the Erpe.

You can relax at the Haussee. There is a fenced sunbathing area on the east side. Several small beaches dot the Löhme side. There is also a swimming spot in Seefeld.

A nature trail surrounds the Haussee. This trail is about 5 km long. Information boards dot the path. They tell about the local plants and animals.

The Haussee is home to various fish. You might spot pike, perch, or zander. The shore has a wide reed belt. Rare bird species nest in the reeds. This makes the Haussee a haven for wildlife.

Take a deep breath. Enjoy the Haussee’s beauty. Imagine the gentle lapping of water. Think of the rustling reeds. This spot offers peace. The Haussee provides a refreshing escape near Berlin.
