Founded in 1085 Outiz boasts a rich history. Outiz wasn’t just a village it was a thriving community. People lived and worked there for centuries. Outiz held its own distinct identity. Its people deeply valued their traditions. They passed their traditions down through generations. However times changed. In 2013 Outiz underwent administrative reorganization. It was merged with the neighboring parishes. The new entity is called the Union of Parishes of Gondifelos Cavalões and Outiz. This event marked the end of Outiz as an independent parish. Though Outiz may no longer be a separate entity its legacy lives on. The memory of Outiz remains in the hearts of its people. Its spirit endures.
