A finger. That’s what sparked the design of Macau Anglican College. Architect Jose F Pereira Chan found inspiration in Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel fresco. He saw God’s hand reaching out to humanity. That gesture became the guiding principle for this remarkable school.

Before you stands Macau Anglican College a private Christian school in Taipa. Established in 2002 it initially housed just 145 pupils. It has since blossomed into a thriving institution. It offers education from kindergarten to senior secondary level. That’s quite a journey for a school that began as a small ‘private and experimental school’.

The college boasts a modern design. Its green and yellow walls stand out. The campus is vibrant with activity. Two playgrounds are available one on the ground and one on the roof. Inside you will find libraries computer suites music rooms art rooms and science labs. Even the kindergarten classrooms have outdoor play areas. The school is committed to providing a comprehensive education. It’s designed to nurture well-rounded individuals ready to contribute to society.

Macau Anglican College isn’t just about academics. It’s rich with extracurricular activities. Think class assemblies theatrical productions charity work field trips and school parties. Students participate in sports like football. In fact the boys’ football team is quite successful having won Group A finals three years running.

The school is also inclusive. An Inclusive Education Unit supports students with disabilities. The college offers Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level examinations. It is also Macau’s first testing center for the Camoes Junior Portuguese language test. Many expats send their children here making it truly international. Yet it also welcomes local students many of whom benefit from government subsidies.

The Macau Anglican College isn’t just a school. It is a community. A place where students learn grow and thrive. It is a place that demonstrates the power of faith education and community. A place born from a simple gesture a hand reaching out. A legacy inspired by Michelangelo now shaping the future of Macau.
