Long ago, a Prussian Baroness named Caroline von Waldau envisioned a tranquil escape overlooking the Untersee. She brought her vision to life in 1840 with the construction of the magnificent Villa Lilienberg. Lilienberg quickly became more than just a villa. It evolved into a hub of creativity and intellectual discourse. Famous musicians graced its halls as honored guests, filling the air with melodies and lively conversation. In 1848, the estate passed to Baroness Betty von Fingerlin, a cousin of Napoleon III. This change in ownership didn’t diminish Lilienberg’s allure. It continued to be a place where minds met and ideas flourished. Decades passed, and Lilienberg’s purpose shifted once again. In 1985, a fateful tea visit by Walter and Klara Reist changed the course of Lilienberg’s history. Walter, an entrepreneur with a dream of creating a meeting place for like-minded individuals, saw the potential in the grand villa. He and the then-owner, Dr. Paul Bigliardi, struck a deal, sealed with a handshake. This marked the beginning of Lilienberg’s transformation into the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, officially inaugurated in 1989. Today, Lilienberg stands as a testament to its rich past. It serves as a boutique conference center, a thriving network for entrepreneurs, and a socio-political think tank, shaping the future of business and society. While its primary function is business-oriented, Lilienberg also opens its doors for private events. Family celebrations and weddings find a picturesque setting within its walls. The restaurant and sun terrace offer culinary delights with a breathtaking backdrop of the park and the Untersee, stretching towards the serene monastery island of Reichenau. Lilienberg isn’t just a place for business; it’s a place where history whispers from every corner, a place where the echoes of music and laughter still linger in the air, a place where the future is being shaped, one meeting at a time.
