October 2021. The scent of incense hangs heavy in the air outside Ben Cat Catholic Parish Church. The Don Bosco Ben Cat parish has just completed its latest act of charity. The church, a beacon of hope in Ho Chi Minh City, has been tirelessly working since June. Vietnam has been grappling with a surge in the pandemic. Ben Cat Catholic Parish Church stepped up to provide food to those in need. This particular effort reached 687 poor families. The families reside in the 05 ward of the Go Vap district and within the parish of Ben Cat itself. While the country begins its transition to a “new normal”, the work of the church doesn’t end here. Father Peter Pham Huy Hoang, SDB, the parish priest, has pledged continued support. Ben Cat Catholic Parish Church will continue helping the vulnerable. They plan to focus on orphans. These are children who tragically lost their parents due to the pandemic. Ben Cat Catholic Parish Church remains dedicated to their wellbeing. They are offering a promise of sustenance and support.
