Have you ever heard of Ghost Hole? It sits tucked away in the Mount Coot-Tha region of Queensland, shrouded in whispers of a forgotten age.

The Ghost Hole is an abandoned gold mine, a relic of a bygone era. The mine itself is sealed and closed off, but the surrounding area is a popular hiking trail. It’s said that the Ghost Hole wasn’t very successful. The only records of gold being extracted are two parcels of crushed rock, sent for processing in 1940. The mine lost interest and was closed in 1959 when rent wasn’t paid.

Today, thick jungle vegetation and eerie atmosphere meet those who dare to visit. The trail is popular among hikers and, supposedly, paranormal investigators too. Ghost Hole and the surrounding areas of Mount Coot-Tha have a dark history of murder, attacks, and even suicide. It’s believed that these dark deeds might have taken place right here. The name “Ghost Hole” may not have anything to do with hauntings, but it doesn’t make this location any less notorious. Many people have reported paranormal experiences in the area, from spotting apparitions to hearing unexplained noises. Some paranormal investigators even claim to have made contact with spirits during investigations. They believe that the mine is home to three female and at least one male ghost.

Whether they are the ghosts of miners who toiled in the depths of the mine or something else entirely, their presence adds to the mystery of the Ghost Hole, making it a truly captivating place.
