The Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Church in Montreal boasts a rich history. Starting as a small group in 1995 it met in the Adventist Academy School building. For years they worshipped there sharing space and growing their faith. Then in 1998 they moved out only to return later. Their perseverance is inspiring.
Finally in 2007 their dreams were realised. The Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Church acquired its own building at 3901 Henri Bourassa in Saint-Laurent. This wasn’t an easy feat. They raised $404000 for this beautiful building. A dedication ceremony followed with pastors from across North America and Europe attending.
The opening was a joyous event. Pastors from New York Washington DC and even Germany came to celebrate. Pastor Gordon Gray from the Quebec Conference dedicated the building. He spoke about the importance of spreading the Gospel echoing the biblical call to reach all nations. The sermon was given by Pastor HVA Kuma who focused on the second coming of Christ. The event raised an additional $27000 in donations.
