The Church of Perfect Liberty traces its origins back to 1924. It was founded by Tokuharu Miki, a former Zen Buddhist priest. He embarked on a spiritual journey. This journey led him to establish this fascinating blend of traditional beliefs and modern philosophies. The Church of Perfect Liberty’s central teaching revolves around the compelling concept that “Life is Art.” Members are encouraged to express their unique individuality in every facet of their lives. This expression is seen as a way to create “true art”. The Church of Perfect Liberty doesn’t adhere to a single holy book. Instead, it follows 21 precepts. These precepts, revealed in 1947 by Tokuchika Miki, Tokuharu’s son, guide members toward self-discovery and a harmonious life. These precepts cover a wide range of principles. They emphasize self-expression, recognizing the divine within oneself, overcoming negativity, and striving for world peace. The Church of Perfect Liberty has a global presence. It boasts over a million followers and hundreds of churches in various countries. From its origins in Japan, the Church of Perfect Liberty has spread to South America, North America, Oceania, and Europe. The Church of Perfect Liberty isn’t just about spiritual practice. It engages in various activities, reflecting its dynamic nature. One notable event is the annual PL Art of Fireworks display held every August 1st. This spectacular event commemorates the founders of the Church of Perfect Liberty and draws crowds from far and wide.
