Gazing up at this towering sentinel, the Chennai Marina Lighthouse, did you ever ponder its connection to a church steeple? The Chennai Marina Lighthouse isn’t just a beacon for ships. The first lighthouse, a humble oil-wick lantern atop the officer’s mess in Fort St. George, flickered to life in 1796.
