Have you ever heard of a Greek Orthodox church dedicated to a Latin saint? Here in Pavia, right before us, stands the Chiesa Greco-Ortodossa di Sant’Ambrogio. This unique church is dedicated to Saint Ambrose, the beloved bishop of Milan. The Chiesa Greco-Ortodossa di Sant’Ambrogio was built in 1880. It serves a vibrant Greek Orthodox community in Pavia. Archimandrite Nectarios Moioli leads the church as the head priest. He is assisted by Reverend Presbyter Paolo Sciales. The dedication to Saint Ambrose might seem unusual at first glance. It highlights the deep respect and reverence that can exist across different branches of Christianity.
