Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Pantai

Did you ever hear of a school changing its name? Right here, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, stands Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Pantai. It wasn’t always called that. Originally, back in the 1980s, this school was known as Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Lucky. It was built alongside other schools like Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Bandaraya, responding to the growth of new housing developments in Bangsar and Bukit Bandaraya. Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Pantai began with two building blocks and a canteen. Later, a third block was added, and the name was changed to Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Pantai. Today, the school boasts a vibrant student body, with over 900 students. There are more boys attending the school (505) than girls (440). They are guided by a dedicated team of 64 teachers led by Headmaster En. Shaharuddin Bin Eusop. The school’s resource center has also seen its share of transformations. Established in 1983, it started with limited resources. By 1987, it had a library and an audio-visual room. A major upgrade between 2006 and 2007 brought tiled floors, light-proof windows, and ICT equipment like computers and LCDs. The resource center became fully operational in 2008. Now it is transitioning to a bar code system. The students are divided into houses named Zamrud, Nilam, Delima, Berlian, and Intan. For sports, they belong to either Saga, Waja, Satria, or Wira. The school song speaks of the dedication of teachers who, “like candles, burn themselves” for their students. The students, in turn, pledge to uphold the school rules and embrace good manners and peaceful harmony.
