Toyonaka Municipal Ohike Elementary School opened in 1936. It was first named Toyono-gun Kume Third Public Elementary School. Later, it became Toyonaka Kume Third Public Elementary School. In 1941, its name changed to Toyonaka Ohike National School. Finally, in 1947, it adopted its current name.
