Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Denver isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a testament to faith perseverance and artistic vision. Located at 2645 E 48th Ave it holds a special place in the hearts of its community.
Father Félix Zermeño Martín a pastor deeply influenced by the colonial churches of his Mexican childhood arrived in 2008. He envisioned transforming Our Lady of Grace’s simple interior. He dreamed of enriching the congregation’s faith with exquisite stained glass. His vision however faced a setback. A serious health crisis nearly derailed the project.
But Father Félix’s dream persisted. Supported by Bishop Jorge Rodríguez and the parishioners they decided on a Marian theme. Images illustrating the Annunciation the Visitation the Wedding at Cana and the Assumption would adorn the windows. The Holy Trinity and the Baptism of the Lord were also included.
The artist chosen? Vitrales y Emplomados Ortiz a nationally renowned company from Father Félix’s hometown. This collaboration ensured both trust and affordability. The congregation raised funds a generous private donor also contributed significantly.
In July 2021 the installation of 21 stunning windows began. The transformation was remarkable. The beautiful windows have not only beautified the church but have also revitalized the community. Requests for quinceañeras and weddings increased. Local residents showed renewed interest in the church.
Even at night the illuminated windows draw visitors. The church has become a beacon of beauty and a testament to the power of faith. The windows are a powerful means of evangelization Father Félix believes. People feel valued respected and their faith matters. The stained-glass windows are a stunning example of how faith and persistence can fulfill a dream. Our Lady of Grace stands as a shining example. A vibrant hub for its community.
