Curious about a temple that changes color three times a day? That’s Rajeshwar Mandir. This ancient Shiva temple in Agra is not just a place of worship. It is a spectacle of faith and color.

Welcome to Rajeshwar Mandir. It is one of Agra’s most ancient temples. Devotees have visited this pagoda for centuries to offer prayers.

Rajeshwar Mandir has a rich history. It is said that the temple is about 850 years old. According to temple trust secretary Pappu Thakur, Raja Kheda brought a Shivling here from the Narmada River.

Imagine Raja Kheda’s devotion. He স্থাপন the Shivling here. It is said that during the night, he rested in the Rajpur Chungi area during his travels. Lord Shiva appeared to him in a dream. He instructed the king to സ്ഥാപന the Shivling there.

Initially, the king was hesitant. He did not trust his dream. The helpers tried to lift the Shivling the next morning. But the Shivling would not budge. It remained firmly planted on the ground. After much effort, the Rajeshwar Mahadev Mandir was built on that spot.

What makes Rajeshwar Mandir truly unique? The Shivling changes color thrice daily. In the morning during the Mangala Aarti, it appears white. During the afternoon Aarti, it turns light blue. By the evening Aarti, the Shivling shows a rosy hue.

This color-changing phenomenon draws many visitors. People come from Agra and beyond to witness this spectacle. They seek blessings from Lord Shiva. The temple is especially vibrant during Sawan.

During Sawan, Rajeshwar Mandir hosts a grand fair. It starts on the first Monday of Sawan. Thousands gather to celebrate. The temple opens at 4 AM during this month. It remains open until 10:30 PM. On regular days, it closes for a few hours in the afternoon.

Devotees offer water to the Shivling during Sawan. Around 300 to 400 people bring water each Monday. They come to perform this sacred ritual. It is a testament to their faith.

Reaching Rajeshwar Mandir is easy. The temple is located near Shamsabad Road in Rajpur Chungi. It is about eight and a half hundred years old. You can take a city bus or auto. If you are coming from Agra-Lucknow Expressway, take Shamsabad Road.

Rajeshwar Mandir is more than just a temple. It is a living testament to faith and history. Its color-changing Shivling offers a unique experience. It is a must-visit for anyone in Agra. The temple reflects the rich spiritual heritage of India. It provides peace to all who visit.
