Military Ave Church

Did you know Military Ave Church has a heart for its community? It’s not just a place of worship. Right here on Military Avenue in Detroit, this church has been a beacon of hope since 1902. Military Ave Church stands as a testament to faith in a community facing economic hardship. The church is acutely aware of the struggles surrounding it. Poverty, broken lives, and bad systems create immense challenges. But Military Ave Church doesn’t shy away. They actively work to be a source of strength and support. Their mission is clear: to glorify God through evangelism, discipleship, and compassion. They aim to meet the challenges of the urban community head-on. They also encourage suburban churches to partner with them in their mission. Every fourth Saturday of the month, except December, the church opens its doors at 10:00 AM for a food distribution program. No ID or paperwork is required. Everyone is welcome to come into the sanctuary. A worship service begins at 10:20 AM. After a short message from the Bible, people are sent in groups to pick up food. Military Ave Church offers several ways to get involved. They have a tutoring program for children in the fall and winter. Their annual Vacation Bible School program shares the Gospel with hundreds of children over two and a half weeks. They even host some groups for a whole week.
