Its steel beams support a wide expanse, reaching 11 meters in breadth and spanning nearly 40 meters in length. The bridge deck itself covers an impressive 440 square meters. Beneath, the steel supports create a rhythmic pattern, each span measuring over 16 meters. The bridge isn’t just about length and width; it also boasts a subtle height. The roadway rises a gentle 1.09 meters above the beams. The Dahlemer-Weg-Brücke isn’t alone. A nearby ramp, constructed of four steel bridges with wooden planks, ascends to meet it. This ramp, completed in 1995/96, stretches 40 meters, providing access for pedestrians and cyclists alongside the Stammbahn tracks. The Dahlemer-Weg-Brücke also stands as a silent observer of another piece of history. It crosses the former track of the Zehlendorfer Eisenbahn, a horse-drawn railway also known as the Goerzbahn. This former railway line curves southward just after the bridge, running parallel to Dahlemer Weg. The construction of the Dahlemer-Weg-Brücke in the mid-1990s was a significant investment, costing 910,000 Deutsche Mark. This investment showcases the city’s commitment to infrastructure and connectivity. Today, the Dahlemer-Weg-Brücke continues to serve its purpose, facilitating the flow of people and vehicles.
