Is it possible for a school to embody the spirit of a warrior and the devotion to a queen? That is precisely what Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School achieves. This public high school in Bangkok is more than just a place of learning. It is a tribute to both a celebrated general and a beloved monarch.

Founded in 1992, Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School is one of nine schools established to honor Queen Sirikit on her sixtieth anniversary. The name itself reflects this dedication. “Nawaminthrachinuthit” signifies devotion to the queen of the ninth King.

But the school’s identity extends beyond royal homage. The name “Bodindecha” pays tribute to Chao Phraya Bodindecha. He was a distinguished army general also known as Sing Singhaseni. During the reign of King Rama III, General Singh led the Bangkok army. His mission was to suppress the rebellion of Lord Anouvong of Vientiane.

Khunying Lakkana Saengsanit played a key role in the school’s early days. She was the director of Bodindecha School when Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School first opened.

Today, Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School is a large institution. It serves over 2,000 students in grades 7 to 12. The school’s motto is “Well-behaved and Well-informed”. This reflects its commitment to both character development and academic excellence.

The school spans 6 acres. It provides a comprehensive educational experience. Its facilities include science labs, computer rooms, and a library. There is also an E-learning center. Sports fields cater to various activities. These include soccer, basketball and badminton.

Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School also has an English Program. This program enhances students’ skills in English, science and technology. It promotes health and physical education.

The school has had eleven directors since its founding. Each one has contributed to its growth. Mr. Surasit Charoenwai was the tenth director. Mr. Midchai Somsumrankoon is the current director.

In 1996, the school received the ‘Outstanding Secondary School Award’. In 1999, it earned ISO 9002 standard certification.

Nawaminthrachinuthit Bodindecha School stands as a symbol of Thailand’s history. It embodies respect for royalty and military achievement. It is a place where students learn. They also grow into well-rounded individuals. The school’s light blue and navy blue colors represent its values.
