“Is this it?” I heard someone ask as we stopped. Let me tell you about the Kulturno-prosvetitel’skiy Tsentr “Marata 64”. It is a cultural and educational center. Its story is interwoven with the history of this very building.

Originally this building belonged to the Sokolov family. They were merchants trading in toys. The Sokolovs owned the building for many years. In the early 20th century Siklitiya Sokolova owned it. Her son owned several shops in Gostiny Dvor.

Around that time Mikhail Ivanovich Smirnov moved here. He was a merchant of the 1st Guild. Smirnov was a major meat trader. He owned plots at Marata 56-58 and Marata 58a.

In the 1920s a chemical production laboratory operated here. Then in 1996 the building transferred to the Museum of the History of Vocational Education. Today Kulturno-prosvetitel’skiy Tsentr “Marata 64” is located here. It is a museum on two floors. It is a place where history and culture meet.

Inside the Kulturno-prosvetitel’skiy Tsentr “Marata 64”, one company is located. If you need to contact them, call +78123150372. They are open today from 2 PM to 8 PM.
