Spanning a graceful 100 meters across the Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe Canal, the Foot Bridge is a newcomer gracing this historic waterway. It connects the vibrant Hoang Sa Street in District 1 to the bustling Truong Sa Street in Binh Thanh District, acting as a link between two distinct yet intertwined communities. This bridge, my friends, is more than just a pathway. It embodies a city’s vision for a greener, more connected future. You see, the Foot Bridge wasn’t originally part of the plan. A massive project to lay a 220kV underground electrical cable was underway, requiring an ambitious tunnel beneath the canal bed. The city authorities, however, saw an opportunity. They envisioned this bridge as a gift to the people, a place to enjoy leisurely strolls, soak in the revitalized beauty of the canal, and connect with their city in a whole new way. And thus, the Foot Bridge, a testament to forward-thinking and community spirit, was born.
