Doesn’t the name Epiphany Church of Gloucester City spark curiosity? Back in 2017, Epiphany Fellowship of Camden commissioned the Marlin family and the Lebakkens to plant a new church here in Gloucester City. It was a bold move fueled by faith.

Epiphany Church of Gloucester City began with just two families. Pastor Joe opened his home every week to neighbors for deserts and a firepit. He then started meeting in local bars and restaurants for Theology on Tap. These open discussions on important issues included both Christians and non-Christians.

In March 2018, Epiphany Church of Gloucester City held its first public service. The location was and is in the heart of town on the corner of Monmouth and Sussex Streets. Each year, the church has drawn new people. Its mission has become a reality. People from different backgrounds doubts and hurts have come together. They have become a family learning to follow Jesus again or for the first time.

Just as Epiphany Church of Gloucester City was planted from a new church in Camden, it planted another church. In 2022, Pastor Dylan was trained, ordained, and sent off to plant Five Points Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Epiphany Church of Gloucester City was only four years old at the time. Their desire is to continue to plant churches and they are praying the next one could be in the South Jersey area.

The word Epiphany comes from the Greek word epiphainein. It means to manifest display show off or come suddenly into view. It recalls the historic moment when the wise men met with the Christ child as written in Matthew 2:1-12. Epiphany Church of Gloucester City is relationally connected to a movement of new Epiphany Churches from LA Baltimore Wilmington to Brooklyn. Most importantly they want you to experience an Epiphany and meet the only one who changes everything.
